Isaac and i have been thinking for a while now that it's about time our parents met each other. Isaac's lovely mum was in Auckland for the weekend so we decided that was the perfect time for her to meet my family. We had a hard time thinking of a quiet, warm and sophisticated place we could go for brunch on Sunday, but finally Isaac suggested Mollies. It was the perfect choice – Mollies is a beautiful, quiet boutique hotel in Herne Bay. We all sat down in a sunny glass room on Phillipe Starck chairs, sipping from antique teacups and eating delicious food for two hours. The award winning hotel's service, quaint antiques mixed with modern furniture, and air of relaxed luxury made us never want to leave. We were pampered with an excess of treats that kept being brought over to the table - the gluten free orange cake and mini pastries were delightful. Although it was the most expensive breakfast we had ever had, it was definitely worth it – it always is when the parentals are paying!

It was a pleasure paying for you, but would you mind putting the rubbish out occasionally?
