#161 Zambesi for Invivo

It's been a night of collaborations. First Zambesi do a rug for Designer Rugs (and chaaaarity), then a wine bottle label for New Zealand wine company Invivo. The wine launch was at Art and Object, my favourite auction house, and new It venue? The event was a who's who of the Auckland art and theatre scene, filled with people my parent's age wearing the dramatic, intellectual, moody clothing New Zealand (and Zambesi) is known for. Needless to say there was a predominance of black clothing. And grey hair.

I caught up with Neville Findlay of Zambesi (above).
Me: Tell me about the wine company collaboration.
Neville: These two young guys started up a wine company and approached us to design the labels for them. We liked their passion and the way they worked.

Me: Can you give me anymore information about your Fashion Week show?
It's at the site where Rhubarb Lane is going to be developed.
(The Old Council Depot on Cook Street.) Inside the beautiful old industrial carpark building. It has a fabulous glass roof. Unfortunately it will be pulled down but at least it'll go out with a bang. We'll be serving Invivo wine at the show.

Me: Being so close to your workroom must have been handy. (It's across the road.)
Neville: (Laughs) Yeah, we laid down a pedestrian crossing over to the office.
