Public servants and politicians of New Zealand rejoice. In a bold move for the current economic climate, Murray Crane has opened a new Crane Brothers store on Wellington's Custom House Quay. Housed in what was the Little Brother store, the shop had a redesign to go with the new name. "Basically I designed it to be like a mini Auckland [Crane Brothers] store," says Crane. "It's a very similar kind of look, same colours, same floors, same feel."
So how does the Wellington man differ from his Auckland counterpart?
"I believe that there are slight differences caused by things like the weather, the political climate and business environment but generally our clients have a certain aesthetic they like which is why they come to us. They like our cut, our cloth choice and the environment we present our ideas and products in. We have a little club of clients already in Wellington that are loyal to us, we plan to build on this."
Crane Brothers Wellington stocks Crane Brothers made to measure and off the rack suiting, and Gubb and Mackie. There are two dedicated tailors working in the store, with a third on the way.
