It's been a week full of kerfuffles and arguments with my (ahem, lovely) sister over her wedding date. Here's the thing. My sister is getting married next month. I'm very happy for her. Terribly terribly happy. I think it's great that she and her fiancee Andrew have chosen to take the plunge and unite in holy, sacred matrimony. But why does it have to conflict with MY travel plans? Call me selfish, but some of us are trying to get themselves over to the menswear shows next month! Milan starts on the 20th, so what day does my sister choose?
Now I love my sister very much and wouldn't miss her wedding for the world, but that doesn't mean I haven't been trying my darndest to get her to change her mind/her wedding date. As you can imagine, her unreasonable, complainy younger brother's wishes haven't been all that high on the agenda - in her words, "those shows take place every six months, my wedding is a once in a lifetime thing!" Needless to say, the date hasn't changed.
So I went to the travel agent today and booked my tickets. I'm flying out of Christchurch on the 20th and will arrive in Milan on the 21st at 6am. But don't worry, oh loving sister, I only miss one day of Milan. No biggie. Right? WRONG! Guess who's showing on the first day? Burberry, Jil Sander and Costume National. No biggie indeed.
Ahhhh well, what can you do, family has to come first. So it is without any trace of resentment (cough cough) whatsoever that I wish my sister Rebeccah congratulations on her pending nuptials. You just wait for my speech.
If you've been thinking these photos have nothing whatsoever to do with this post, you'd be right. If you're wondering why they're so useless, it's because I'm home alone and can't bring myself to go next door to ask a neighbour to take a picture for me. Turns out it's quite a task to take a picture of your own pants.
But they're all part of my other exciting news. You know how I only wear variations of one thing everyday? Well my pants wardrobe officially doubled today. I stopped by the Little Brother sale store on Richmond Road in the weekend to visit Rufus and found the exact same pair of pants as my beige ones, but in navy.
It just goes to show - you win some, you lose some.
I LIKE YOU!
