I agree, it shouldn't matter what ethnic group they belong to. However, if that were really true - anyone from a minority ethnic group knows that it's not - then all of the models wouldn't be white or at least appear so.

I don't know why people are arguing about this, I was at the fashion week castings and there was a fairly accurate reflection of NZs general population which is according to NZ Demographics
"73% of New Zealand's population is of unmixed European descent".
Other studies in NZ and Australia show that despite the criticism, ethnic groups are actually represented at a higher proportion than their population percentage in TV advertising
