Sad news for Kiwi reality TV fans, New Zealand's Next Top Model is no more. According to this article in the New Zealand Herald today, TV3 have pulled the plug on a NZNTM second series due to budget constraints resulting from low advertising revenues. "It's done well for us," said TV3 MediaWorks programming director Kelly Martin. "But we won't be able to afford it in the short term."
And there I was hoping for a guest spot in the second series! We can only hope that they'll be back for more once la crise is ended.
UPDATED: TV3 has denied reports that NZNTM is being canned - read all about it here.

Not to worry Isaac, it has not been pulled altogether.
Such a hoopla around this!
Kelly very clearly says in the quote in the Herald article that it is not likely to go ahead in the 'short term'. As in, it won't happen this year, but they're not turfing the whole thing out. They just need production funding!
Dull, Uninspiring and ego driven. C'est la vie.
New Zealand's next top model... What a waste of time and money.
It better not be canned. I just might cry.
