#1434 Melbourne Spring Fashion Week Day 1
My Melbourne Spring Fashion Week experience officially began yesterday. The actual event is citywide with mini shows, seminars, business talks and film screenings all day long (including an Yves Saint Laurent biopic that was banned in France!), but the headline act is a group show held each night. Last night's show featured Arnsdorf, Gary Bigeni, Dhini, Alistair Trung, Kuwaii, Flannel, MATERIALBYPRODUCT, Assin, Alice Euphemia and Therese Rawsthorne. Held at the Town Hall, which, quite conveniently is directly opposite our hotel – the venue was packed with show-goers, but the first person I saw when I walked in the door was Kiwi catwalk photographer extraordinaire Michael Ng – he's one of the official shooters this week. The show itself was short and sweet with each designer presenting about eight looks. My favourites were Arnsdorf's geometric-shaped dresses, Flannel's leather and Therese Rawsthorne's cool cut-out shirts. I made a little catwalk video to the tune of Jay Z and Pharrell's hit Change Clothes. Hope you like it. Plus check out Isaac Likes Diary for more Melbourne shenanigans.
Full disclosure: The City of Melbourne very kindly paid for my accommodation for Melbourne Spring Fashion Week.
I LIKE YOU!
