Photos: Tommy Ton for GQTommy Ton is by far and large my favourite streetstyle photographer. I could go on for hours about his impeccable taste and how he captures moments so perfectly, but there's no need; his photographs speak for themselves. If I had just one gripe about what he does on Jak and Jil, it'd have to be that he doesn't put enough emphasis on the well-dressed gentlemen among us. Sure there's his deal with GQ, but that only comes out during the show season – we need more! But then just as you're feeling less than inspired, sitting in a single bed in the upstairs office at your Nana's house in Christchurch, out comes 9 Men Who Bring It: Tommy Ton's picks of the best-dressed men in fashion this year.
He chose well – besides perennial best of the best-dressed guys Francesco Cominelli, Nick Wooster and Bruce Pask, he gave a nod to (in my opinion) the coolest clothed man on the planet, Robert Rabensteiner. That guy kills it all year around no matter where he's going or what the weather's doing. The key to his style is that everything he wears looks so worn in. It's like he sleeps in those blazers. And check out that photo with his winter coat billowing around him (below) – he's a fricken magician. Every time I see him I'm amazed that one man can get so many elements so right – the hat, the beard, the green, the shoes and the baggy pleated denim trousers. Trends are for shmucks. Menswear should look good forever. Robert Rabensteiner is the very epitome of a well-dressed man.

(I took this one outside the Louis Vuitton show in June.)I LIKE YOU!
