I came to Sydney for two reasons: 1. to attend the Stolen Girlfriends Club jewellery launch last night; and 2. because I couldn't think of a clever 30th birthday present for Katherine (kidding about the age but a trip to Sydney for two seemed like a good get-out-of-jail-free card). It also happily coincided with one last piece of work I had to do on the summer campaign I was over here shooting earlier in the month.
Here's how my day went down.
A quick stopover on the North Shore to film a behind-the-scenes interview.
Lunch at Miss Chu with Simon Cordery – Australasian PR for Ermenegildo Zegna.
The coconut milk, pineapple and mint crushies were second-to-none.
A brisk stroll up Park Street towards Hyde Park. This building was big and attractive and served to remind us of how much better Sydney's heritage architecture is than Auckland's kitset monstrosities.
I made Katherine take a photo of this church between the two trees because it reminded me of the White Witch's palace in Narnia which sits between the two mountains. You know the one.
Looking back towards Kings Cross down Park Street, my favourite spot in Sydney.
A lovely amble through Hyde Park.
And a quick chat to my Mum in the taxi on the way to the Stolen Girlfriends Club launch. The first photo, quite self-explanitorily, involved dancing on the street. All in all, a good day.
