I've been intrigued by BLK DNM and its founder Johan Lindeberg's sudden rise to indie fashion fame for a while now, so last week Noah Emrich and I shot the store for the New York Times to see what all the fuss was about. It's a cavernous space on Lafayette Street in Soho, filled with Downtown-type art, walls of denim and stacks of Purple magazines – the staff are all young and good looking, the air perfumed with musky candle smoke, and Lindeberg himself is an exercise in tousled aloof.
