|Little Brother Spring/Summer 2012/13 trouser samples.|
That colour you signed off on in that cotton drill comes out an entirely different colour when you use it to dye that tee shirting; you're sure your sweatshirts didn't use to have such narrow arms, but the first sample comes back and you can barely fit your finger in there; and wasn't the blazer supposed to have patch pockets instead of flaps? Then there're the neck labels, the tee shirt prints, the cardboard swing tags and the button colours. Every time you want to make a change it's more samples and more money spent, and at some point you just have to let go for fear of overcooking the broth, not to mention missing the delivery dates.
As I've found out over the past couple of months, having a successful brand doesn't come from having good ideas, it comes from micro-managing to the point where people want to murder you, and following through with every single email, note, text message, phone call and meeting. It's a work in progress.
What I can tell you is that the collection is a solid representation of Little Brother's heritage, mixed with my personal obsessions, Murray Crane's perfectionist touches and Katherine Lowe's talent for graphic design. It goes on sale in early September, and we'll be leaking more and more photos over the coming weeks, so FOLLOW OUR TUMBLR!
