Photo: NY Mag She’s had a good run of late, New Zealand’s Ella Drake, what with her Gucci Fall 2011 show exclusive and that cushy fit modelling gig working alongside Frida Giannini on the Gucci looks. And with the Spring shows around the corner, a bit of extra publicity won’t hurt her chances one bit. Just this morning, NY Times‘ fashion blog The Cut ran a profile on Drake, calling her, “Frida Giannini’s Bella Di Giorno”. Not bad for a girl who struggled to book anything significant in the local New Zealand market. Oh sweet irony. Lady foresight is aClick to Continue!

Photo: tfs Jessica Clarke was hands down the top Kiwi model of 2010. In her first fashion month abroad, she dominated the international catwalks like no New Zealander has before, walking the Calvin Klein exclusive in New York, Dolce and Gabbana in Milan and Lanvin in Paris, bagging herself the upcoming D&G campaign in the process. Not bad for a 17 year old former national netball rep who hails from Palmerston North – a town that John Cleese described as being perfect for anybody wishing to kill themselves but lacking the inspiration. Screengrab: The all new 62 Models blog. Despite being one of the best modelling agencies in the country, holding the prize contract for New Zealand’s Next Top Model and representing the likes of Zippora Seven, Stella Maxwell, Vinnie Woolston and Ella Drake, 62 Models’ website has been – how shall we say – a little outdated for a while now. With its dirty green background and tiny gridlocked photographs, it bore a closer resemblance to a 90s catalogue than a good looking page advertising good looking people. Until today, that is. Behold, 62 Models’ new website. Now that’s what IClick to Continue!
Photos: Steve Wood New Zealand girls Stella Maxwell and Ella Drake both walked in the Issey Miyake F/W 2010 show four days ago. It’s been a bit of an uneventful season for the Kiwi girls (besides Ella Drake’s Gucci exclusive), with Stella skipping most of the shows due to a flu, no sign of Georgia Fowler and no major conversion (so far at least) by Ella Drake on her Gucci exclusive. It ain’t over till it’s over, but from where I’m sitting I’d be surprised to see anything big happen at this late stage in the game. Ella Drake below.IClick to Continue!
